Malmsbury, East Road - Road Reconstruction

Road rehabilitation works along a 1.74 km section of Malmsbury East Road, Malmsbury are underway.

The project extends from the eastern end of the Calder Freeway interchange to approximately 120 metres short of the Kyneton–Metcalfe Road intersection.

The works include: 

  • upgrades to the existing road to a 6.6m wide sealed surface with 0.5m sealed shoulders on both sides 
  • new line markings to improve road user safety 
  • driveway upgrades for improved access 
  • improvements to roadside drains to help water flow better.

Once complete, these improvements will enhance safety, extend the life of the road, and provide better travel conditions for all road users.

This project is funded by Australian Government Roads to Recovery Program.

Road works are now completed and roadside drainage works are in progress. 

Minor delays are expected during the works. Please allow extra time if travelling in the area.
