The Darraweit Valley Bridge is located over Deep Creek on Darraweit Valley Road, Darraweit Guim, 1.4km from Romsey Road intersection.
Resurfacing of the bridge and repairs to the north abutment are now completed. Council would like to thank residents, businesses and road users for their patience as works were being completed.
Council has recently awarded the contract for the bridge foundation erosion control works to Waratah Constructions. These works were originally scheduled to commence in late February 2026 and be completed by April 2026. However, due to increased water levels in Deep Creek, the works have been temporarily postponed to ensure site safety and minimise environmental impacts.
Construction will commence once creek conditions become suitable. While works may begin at any time should water levels reduce, the worst-case scenario is that construction may need to be deferred until next summer. Council appreciates the community’s continued patience and understanding regarding this delay.
Upon completion of these works, Council officers will consult with the local community to discuss potential future management strategies for the bridge.
These works are funded by the 2025-26 Capital Works Program.
