Outdoor pools

Our two outdoor pools are located in Woodend and Lancefield.

The pools are now closed until the Summer season begins in December 2025.

Opening hours are dependent upon the temperature forecast as below.

During December 2025 and School Holidays

Monday to Sunday: 12pm to 6pm

During Term 1 2026

Monday to Friday: 3.30pm to 6pm
Saturday and Sunday: 12pm to 6pm
Public Holidays: 12pm to 6pm

These opening hours are based on Council's Outdoor Pools Temperature Guidelines(PDF, 278KB) and the Bureau of Meteorology forecast for Kyneton, which is taken at 4.30pm the day prior and published on this webpage.

Public holidays and Catastrophic (Fire Danger Rating) Days

If a Catastrophic (Fire Danger Rating) Day is declared by the Country Fire Authority for the Central District, the Woodend Outdoor Pool will be closed.
Pools are closed on Christmas Day, 25 December.
Pools will be opened free of charge on 26 January (Australia Day), provided minimum opening temperatures are forecast.

Season tickets give you access to both the Woodend and Lancefield pools.

From November 2025, these can be purchased and checked online via our Member's Portal below.

If you have recently visited any Council aquatic, fitness or sporting facilities, contact your nearest facility to confirm if you have a profile on our system to avoid duplicate accounts.

Date of Birth is required on your profile before purchasing the season pass online.

Add or make sure your Date of Birth is correct
Select Memberships > Outdoor Pool Season Pass
Select your chosen facility and follow the prompts to payment method
Add the discount code to your cart before checking out

To add family members to your account, contact your nearest indoor aquatic or fitness centre.

Child supervision

Children under 10 years

Must be accompanied by a responsible parent/guardian. Minimum 1 parent/guardian to 4 children. Can include a maximum of 2 children under 5 years of age

Children under 5 years

Must be accompanied in the water by a responsible parent/guardian. Minimum 1 parent/guardian to 2 children.

Lancefield Pool facilities

The Lancefield Outdoor facility includes the following;

25 metre 6 lane pool with offset free-play area - ranging in depth from 0.8 to 3.0 metres in depth, with both hand rails and stair access (note there is no ramp access)
Toddler pool suitable for younger children - ranging in depth from 0.25 to 0.4 metres in depth
Electric BBQ
Surrounding grassed area with bench seating and tables

Woodend Pool facilities

The Woodend Outdoor facility includes the following;

25 metre 6 lane pool - ranging in depth from 1.0 to 1.8 metres, with hand rails and stair access (note there is no ramp access)
Toddler pool suitable for younger children - ranging in depth from 0.6 to 0.9 metres in depth
Splash pool 0.17 metres in depth
Surrounding grassed area with bench seating and tables
