Due to the Hanging Rock precinct flooding, the reserve closed at midday to ensure visitor safety.The weather looks clearer over the weekend, and we anticipate the reserve will be open as usual. However, we will communicate any changes to opening hours on the weekend via the website and Facebook.

A new playground is being installed at Ash Wednesday Park over the next couple of weeks.In line with the Ash Wednesday Park Master Plan, the old playground is being removed and a new one installed. The cost of this new playground is $80,000.
Located in the centre of Macedon in a natural bush setting, with play equipment catering for toddlers and older children.
There is lots of natural shade, provided by large trees and plenty of open space for creative play and exploring.
A master plan to help guide the future development of the park has been developed in consultation with the community and was adopted by Council on 1 May 2020.
Ash Wednesday Park Playground Upgrade
Since the completion of the Ash Wednesday Park Master Plan in 2019, Council has invested $150,000 in implementing the plan which to date has seen the development of an outdoor stage with seating and power, the playground upgrade, with pathway works due to occur later in 2022.
The playground upgrade complements the development of a new flying fox that was coordinated by the Mount Macedon Business and Tourism Association, and funded by the Bendigo Community Bank.
Temporary fencing around the old playground was installed on 9 September, with the new playground due for completion and available for community use by 30 September 2022.
