Buzzing Cardboard Bees Workshop (morning) - School Holidays Fun at WNH
Next date: Wednesday, 30 September 2026 | 10:30 AM
to 12:00 PM
What's it all about?
Children in Prep to Grade 6 are invited to join Penelope and let their imaginations take flight.
Get creative and bring the fascinating world of bees to life! In this hands-on workshop, participants will create their own Queen Bee or Busy Working Bee, complete with moveable wings.
Explore colour, pattern and texture as you develop your bee design on a cardboard base. Add personality and detail using paint sticks, textured card, cogs, paper and other exciting tactile materials.
A fun and imaginative workshop encouraging artistic experimentation, collage skills and individual expression.
All materials are provided, and no prior art experience is necessary!
Who will be leading the session?
Local artist/educator Penelope Cato is eager to share her experience and knowledge with budding young artists. Penelope has an abiding interest in nature, particularly plant life and a love for patterning and Japanese design.
As a multidisciplinary artist, Penelope has a background in design across disciplines and creates imaginative works with aesthetic appeal and subtle layers of meaning.
Her experience directing, inspiring and engaging primary students together with her passion for art make her an asset to our junior artistic community.
