Council is delivering drainage improvement works on Howey Street, Gisborne, between Stephen Street and Prince Street.
As part of the project, the existing drainage network will be upgraded to improve stormwater collection and conveyance along the street. The works will include installation of new drainage pipes and pits, upgrades to existing drainage infrastructure, and associated reinstatement works as required.
These upgrades will improve the performance and capacity of the local drainage network, reducing the risk of stormwater impacts and supporting the long-term functionality of surrounding road infrastructure.
The works are funded through Council's Capital Works Program 2026/27.
The project is currently in the design phase and construction dates will be published once the works have been awarded.
Minor delays are expected during the works. Please allow extra time if travelling in the area.
