Council is delivering intersection upgrade works at Hamilton Street and Aitken Street, Gisborne, to improve road safety, traffic movement, pedestrian access and overall connectivity.
As part of the project, three raised safety platforms will be constructed. The works will also include new underground drainage infrastructure, kerb and channel, and footpath upgrades.
These improvements will create a safer and more functional intersection for motorists, pedestrians and other road users.
The works are funded through the Victorian Government’s Safe System Pedestrian Infrastructure Program.
The project is currently in the procurement phase and construction dates will be published once the works have been awarded and the contractor’s program has been confirmed.
Minor delays are expected during the works. Please allow extra time if travelling in the area.
