Community Engagement Policy

The purpose of this Policy is to:

  • state Council’s commitment to high-quality, meaningful community engagement
  • outline when and how Council engages with the community
  • describe how engagement influences Council decisions and how this will be communicated
  • embed the legislative principles of community engagement
  • support inclusion, accessibility, privacy and human rights
  • provide a clear framework for consistent engagement practice
  • confirm Council’s commitment to reporting back to the community on engagement outcomes, including how input influenced decisions or why it did not.
