Woodend, Old Lancefield Road - Road Reconstruction

Council secured federal government grant funding under the Infrastructure Investment Program to upgrade Old Lancefield Road, Woodend.

Stage 1, covering the section from Savages Lane to Manifold Road, was completed on 7 October 2025.

The project included:

• full road reconstruction between Manifold Road and Savages Road
• concrete kerb and channel, and underground drainage
• completion of missing footpath link between Manifold Road and High Street via Romsey Road   
• improved roadside signage.

Under Stage 2, the section from Romsey Road to Savages Lane has been upgraded, including full pavement reconstruction. These works commenced in March 2026 and were completed on 13 May 2026.

Clancys Intersection improvement works are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
