Kyneton Speed Reduction - Safer Local Roads and Streets Program

Council is delivering speed limit reductions in the Kyneton town centre and surrounding residential areas to improve safety for all road users.

As part of the project, new speed limit signage will be installed on selected roads throughout the township to support lower speed environments in key business, activity and residential areas.

These improvements will help create a safer road environment, improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists, and reduce the likelihood and severity of crashes. Lower vehicle speeds can also improve comfort and accessibility for people moving around the township.

The project supports Council's commitment to improving road safety and creating safer, more liveable communities.

The works are funded through the Victorian Government's Safer Local Roads and Streets Program (SLRSP).

The works have been awarded and are expected to be completed by the end of October.

Minor delays may occur during the works. Please allow extra travel time if travelling in the area.
