Gisborne, Melton Road - Footpath Construction Works

Council is delivering a new shared footpath along the eastern side of Melton Road, Gisborne, between Willowbank Road and Dalton Street, to complete a missing link and provide safer walking and cycling access for students and the wider community.

As part of the project, approximately 300 metres of two-metre-wide concrete shared footpath will be constructed. The works will also include associated drainage improvements and vegetation removal where required.

These upgrades will improve pedestrian and cycling connectivity and provide a safer, more accessible route along Melton Road.

The works are jointly funded through the Victorian Government’s Flexible Local Transport Solutions Program and Council’s Capital Works Program 2026–27.

The works have been awarded and are scheduled to be delivered during the September school holidays, subject to weather conditions and required approvals.

Minor delays are expected during the works. Please allow extra time if travelling in the area.
