The Darraweit Valley Bridge is located on Darraweit Valley Road, Darraweit Guim, approximately 1.4km from the Romsey Road intersection.
Bridge resurfacing works and repairs to the northern abutment have now been completed. Council thanks residents, businesses and road users for their patience during these works.
Council has recently awarded a contract for bridge foundation erosion control works. These works were originally planned for delivery during the 2025/26 financial year; however, elevated water levels in Deep Creek have delayed construction to ensure site safety and minimise environmental impacts.
Construction will commence once creek conditions become suitable. While works may proceed sooner if water levels reduce, there remains a possibility that construction may need to be deferred until drier conditions occur.
These works will help protect the bridge foundations from erosion, improve the long-term resilience of the structure and support the continued operation of this important road link.
Upon completion of these works, Council officers will engage with the local community regarding potential future management options for the bridge.
The works are funded through Council's Capital Works Program 2026/27.
