Due to the current site layout and access limitations, a staged delivery approach was determined to be the best way to deliver the netball upgrades.
Stage 1: Redevelopment of the M.B. O'Sullivan Pavilion
The redevelopment of the M.B. O'Sullivan Pavilion is now underway, with completion expected by the end of 2025. The upgraded pavilion will include:
- two netball player change rooms
- umpire change rooms
- amenities
- a storage facility
- a first aid area
- administration/office space
- an undercover spectator area.
The integration of the new extension with existing structures will involve upgrading the roof and cladding, while preserving the pavilion’s roof profile. Additionally, concreting the southern end’s dirt floor will create a versatile, multi-purpose space.
During construction, temporary facilities will be provided to support users throughout the 2025 netball season. Council will continue to work closely with all user groups during construction as we work to deliver this much-anticipated project.
Stage 2: Construction of two new netball courts
The second stage, scheduled to begin in late 2025 and conclude prior to the start of a new netball season (i.e. by April 2026), will deliver two new asphalt netball courts that meet Netball Victoria standards, complete with:
- LED floodlighting
- perimeter fencing
- spectator seating.
These courts will replace the existing single court in the north-western corner of the Kyneton Showgrounds, offering enhanced facilities to support the Kyneton netball community.
