A Sport and Recreation Victoria funding application for the lighting component was successful, allowing Council to deliver new LED sports field lighting to the second soccer pitch at Dixon Field in Gisborne, which currently has no lighting.
Lighting this pitch will provide the growing Gisborne Soccer Club with increased after-hours participation opportunities and spread the training load on the existing playing field surfaces.
The contract has been awarded with procurement of poles, luminaries and switchboard underway. Site works are expected to commence from mid June and completion is expected by end of August 2026.
