Anzac Day services will be held in towns throughout the shire on Saturday 25 April. There will also be some changes to normal weekend opening hours at some facilities.

Woodend Bookshop is an old fashioned quality secondhand bookshop. There is something for everyone, with particularly good holdings of crime fiction, military, general fiction, children's books and Australian authors. A small selection of new classics and recent releases and a table of "as new" books provide good gifts. There are more than 500 books at a dollar each on the bargain tables outside.
