Bushland reserves

Residents are welcome to visit any of the shire's bushland reserves to gain an appreciation of our unique bushland areas.  They are great places for activities such as bird watching, bush walking and nature photography.

The reserves are owned and managed by Council for the conservation of local flora and fauna.  Several reserves have environmental management plans. For more information about each reserve, including its location, features and environmental management plan use the list and map below.

Dogs on/off leash and prohibited areas

Macedon Ranges Shire Council asks that dog owners please observe the requirements across the shire. Effective control of dogs will ensure the full enjoyment, safety and comfort of others.

To protect the shire’s sensitive native environment, dogs are prohibited in some sensitive areas including Bushland Reserves.

Dogs in public places must be on a leash, except in designated off-leash areas. Dogs off leash except during sporting events, also includes team training sessions. Dogs must also be under effective control at all times and should not be left unattended.
