The Healthy Landscapes: Practical Regenerative Agricultural Communities program aims to raise awareness in their community about sustainable land management practices that improve soil health, reduce exposure to climate risk, enhance biodiversity and increase on-farm productivity.This program is being delivered as a partnership between Macedon Ranges Shire Council (MRSC), Hepburn Shire Council, the City of Greater BendigoA Healthy Coliban Catchment project (North Central Catchment Management Authority and Coliban Water), Melbourne Water and the Upper Campaspe Landcare Network.

The Grass and Pasture Identification Webinar is being held in partnership with Port Phillip & Westernport CMA with the support of the Victorian Government.

Join us and environmental scientist, Dr Graeme Lorimer who has been teaching how to identify, understand and manage wild (non-planted) grasses for 32 years.

This spring, we are offering a three-part program:

  • In your own time (prior to the webinar on 26th October), view his introductory YouTube video and do the associated simple outdoor activities;
  • Bring your grass specimens from those activities along to the webinar. The webinar will cover the structure and biology of grass plants, which will get you started on identification and management of grasses; and
  • After registering for this event, consider attending one of the following field days to see a range of species and learn what they tell us about their environment and management.

They will be held:

  • Redesdale: Friday 26 November 2021, 10am – 2pm
  • Eganstown (Daylesford): Friday 26 November 2021, 3.30pm – 7pm
  • Darraweit Guim: Saturday 27 November 2021, 10am – 2pm

Field days require separate registration.
