Would you like to play a game based on our Shire?

Better yet, would you like to help artist, Jenni Ivins, to create one?

Discover things you didn’t know about the Shire, find new places to visit on a family outing or with friends. Jenni will initiate conversations about what you love about living, working or playing in the Macedon Ranges. Activities you enjoy, flora and fauna, secret places, and more.

Join Facebook group, ‘Connecting Communities’, where you’ll find conversation prompts and details about how to participate. You can be the first to hear the latest news—and a sneak peek at the works in progress as the project unfolds.

Jenni will also record mini workshops to guide you, so you can have your art included in the game.

A great opportunity to be part of an important project that documents life in the Macedon Ranges in 2021.

Outcomes

The board game will be published in a local newspaper, for families to play at home. Copies will also be available at local libraries and Council Customer Service Centres.

About the artist

Jenni Ivins uses art to improve communication by showing there is more than one way to experience what we see. She creates detailed Mind Drawings, in which lines may be read in different ways depending on your focus. Jenni also works with communities to make art accessible to all.

Jenni  tours in interactive exhibitions, from the hills of the Dandenong Ranges to coastal communities in Warrnambool.

When COVID hit, she had to cancel her events, so she moved to supporting her community online, including Mandala Mondays (where she recorded 40 Facebook Live workshops using items from home) and A Part Together (the Facebook group through which she created a board game about Cardinia Shire in lockdown  - which was nominated for an Australia Day award for the best community event).

She currently resides in New Gisborne and is enjoying getting to know more about the Shire and the community.
