Accessing our aquatic and sports facilities

In accordance with the Chief Health Officer directions and to support increased access to our facilities, Council will be implementing the following changes to our operations.

Important information

In accordance with the Chief Health Officer directions and to support increased access to our facilities, the following operating protocols will be applied to keep our members safe, including proof of vaccination, QR code check-ins and sanitising procedures:

  • Access to all Council aquatic and leisure facilities will be restricted to participants who are fully vaccinated or have a medical exemption and can provide proof of their vaccination status, unless otherwise outlined below,
  • Aquatic, gym and stadium facilities will be permitted to allow a maximum 1 patron per 4m2 to a maximum of 500
  • Visitors to the facility must provide verification of their vaccination status each time they attend. Staff will need to sight your vaccination confirmation prior to entry. Please refer to information in your facility for confirmation of acceptable documents to verify your vaccination status
  • Group fitness and Aqua Aerobics resumed 8 November 2021
  • 24/7 access to the gym will be available to members who pre-register their vaccination status/medical exemption with council from 2 November 2021. Details of this process has been sent to members
  • Children U12 years and 2 months are not required to provide proof of their vaccination status but will be counted in the density quotient
  • Learn to swim programs resumed 8 November 2021. A participant or a parent, guardian or carer who is actively supervising a participant taking part in a Learn to Swim program facilitated by an accredited instructor will not be required to provide proof of vaccination/exemption to enter the facility.  Children (12y2m+)/supervising adults who attend the facility for a lesson under this exemption are not permitted to swim before or after their lesson. If they wish to do this they must show evidence of vaccination/exemption.
  • Change room facilities are open
  • Community sport has resumed – please contact your local centre for the current Chief Health Officer Open Premises Direction
  • Squash court and room hire is available
