Harcourt fire - Emergency Relief Centres

To support those impacted by the Harcourt fire north of our border, Council has opened an Emergency Relief Centre (ERC) at the Kyneton Toyota Sports & Aquatic Centre, to welcome anyone who needs to evacuate the fire and does not have a safe place to go. KTSAC's business-as-usual (i.e. pool, gym) will be temporarily impacted as a result. An ERC has also been set up in Bendigo.

Total Fire Ban - Saturday 10 January 2026

A state-wide Total Fire Ban has been declared by the Country Fire Authority for Saturday 10 January 2026. As a result, our resource recovery facilities in Kyneton, Woodend and Romsey will be closed. We apologise for any inconvenience. A 'High' Fire Danger Rating is also in place for the Central district.

Dung Beetle Farm Walk - Romsey/Newham

27 Feb 2026 This farm walk will focus on the Dung Beetle lifecycle and their role in improving soil health and carbon storage on farms. This will include practical ways to attract and maintain Dung Beetles numbers on your property.

The session will included a light meal, a paddock walk and discussion. Once registered, the property address will be sent to you prior to the event.
