Restoring a heritage property
Many properties and townships in the shire are protected due to cultural heritage significance. This means that a property or township’s heritage character, streetscapes, buildings and features will be preserved for future generations.
To find out if your property or township is subject to heritage protection, you can search the Victorian Heritage Database or download a free property report to find out about any heritage overlays or zones that apply to your property. See: Property Reports – Land Victoria website
You will need a permit to renovate, alter or subdivide heritage-listed properties or land. For more information, contact our Planning department on (03) 5422 0333.
