Work on scoping upgrades to the livestock exchange precinct in Kyneton continues. Upgrades will include works to the sale yards and truck washing facility. These upgrades will ensure that this facility meets industry standards, reflects that changing nature of agriculture in our region, improves animal welfare and allows for sustainable practices.

Consultation continues with various stakeholders, including representative of local stock agents, Livestock Association of Victoria and others. It is anticipated that consultation of this project will continue in to early 2021.

This project is funded through an Australian Government Building Regions grant with an allocation from Council's 2020/2021 Budget. It aligns with the Macedon Ranges Agribusiness Plan 2013–18, which recognises the regions' changing industry profile, requiring new strategic support and planning of saleyards.
