Every year, on behalf of the Australia Day Council, Council acknowledges and celebrates wonderful and inspiring members of our community.
Community groups in each of our towns are encouraged to create community events with the help of a $500 grant so family, friends and visitors can get together and celebrate on the day.
The Australia Day awards ceremony is combined with an Australian citizenship ceremony and is held at Kyneton Town Hall.
There are five categories that you can nominate people for.
The Citizen, Young Citizen, Community Achievement and Arts Ambassador awards can apply to significant service achievements made in the past calendar year or acknowledged continued service to the community over a period of time.
Nominations open Monday 14 September and will close Friday 30 October 2020. A report will be presented to the Council Meeting on Wednesday 16 December 2020 with all nominators notified after that date.
