Time to celebrate: 2020 Macedon Ranges youth award winners announced
Published on 17 December 2020
Young people were recognised for their achievements on Saturday night in an online event at the 2020 Macedon Ranges Youth Awards. Winners in each category were presented with their awards this week at the Kyneton Botanic Gardens.
The annual event recognises and celebrates the extraordinary and diverse achievements of young people aged 12–25 who go to school, work or live in the Macedon Ranges Shire.
Mayor, Cr Jennifer Anderson said the event acknowledges the many ways young people participate in and contribute to our local community.
“The new categories developed this year, the adaptation to the on line setting due to COVID restrictions, and the willingness of all nominees to share their stories of adversity and triumph demonstrates what a supportive program our youth service provides,” said Mayor Anderson. “Having our youth highly involved in running this program ensures its success.
“Each nominee deserves to be recognised. They are creating positive change in our local communities and beyond, and I’d like to acknowledge and thank each of them for their contributions and achievements,” said Mayor Anderson.
“I would also like to thank all of the family, friends, volunteers and staff who support our young people in their endeavours to make the Macedon Ranges such a beautiful and inclusive place.”
