During October/November 2022, severe weather caused widespread damage throughout the shire, with roads particularly affected. Council has been working to keep communities safe, informed and to reopen vital infrastructure as soon as possible.

Council will assist residents whose property has been directly affected by the 2022 floods by providing, on application, a deferment for the payment of the first and /or second rates instalment.
At this stage deferment will be accepted for this current instalment until the next instalment is due on 28 February 2023. At that time either both instalments should be paid or an application under Council's Financial Hardship Policy made.
