Have your say on the draft Kyneton Airfield Local Law No.12

Closing date: 5pm Thursday 7 February 2019

Residents are invited to have their say on the draft Kyneton Airfield Local Law No. 12 , which aims to minimise potential hazards to aircraft.

The draft local law was drafted following community feedback and would align Kyneton Airfield with best practice safety standards set by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

It aims to set height restrictions on potential obstructions or activities near the airfield that could pose a safety hazard for aircraft.

These include poles, radio masts, antennas, cranes, lights, trees and other infrastructure.

Copies of the draft local law and the draft community impact statement can be viewed online and at Council service centres.

Council resolved to start the process to create a local law at the 25 October 2017 Ordinary Council Meeting(PDF, 653KB).

Work on the draft started in early 2018.

A drop-in feedback session was held at Kyneton Mechanics Institute, 81 Mollison Street, Kyneton on 17 January 2019 at 6.30pm.

Read the draft local law(PDF, 1MB), then have your say by sending a written submission to PO Box 151, Kyneton, 3444, emailing mrsc@mrsc.vic.gov.au or filling in our online feedback form.

Submissions close 5pm Thursday 7 February 2019.

A meeting to hear and consider any submissions on the proposed local law will be held on Wednesday 20 February at 6.30pm at the Gisborne Administration Centre.
