Council, Gisborne Landcare and Melbourne Water are working together to ensure Gisborne’s Bunjil and Howey creeks are flourishing and healthy waterways.
A draft Environmental Management Plan has been prepared to help break the stranglehold of invasive weeds and guide future restoration efforts for these important local creeks.
Key locations for proposed works include:
- the confluence of Howey and Bunjil Creek near Fersfield Road
- Howey Creek around Willowbank Estate Reserve
- Bunjil Creek around Carinya Drive.
High threat weeds to be targeted include blackberry, broom, gorse and willow.
