Domestic Animal Management Plan 2021-2025

Submissions closed on 21 October 2021, 05:00 PM

In September/October, Council called on residents with and without pets to help shape its new Domestic Animal Management Plan.

In Victoria, councils must develop a new domestic animal management plan every four years to set out services, programs, and initiatives that promote responsible ownership of dogs and cats in the community.

The four-year plan will:

  • help pets, pet owners and the general community to live together
  • protect the environment and local wildlife from the negative impacts of dogs and cats
  • address animal management welfare and promote responsible pet ownership.

Thank you to everyone who shared their ideas and feedback in this initial consultation stage. Your feedback is currently being reviewed and will be used to inform the draft plan which we'll be inviting your feedback on later this year.
