Amendment C127 - Macedon Ranges Shire Heritage Study

Council is committed to improving our built environment by protecting places of heritage significance.

The Macedon Ranges Shire Heritage Study: Woodend, Lancefield, Macedon and Mount Macedon Stage 2 Final Report 4 April 2019 documented a number of significant places in the shire and the study was adopted by Council on 24 April 2019.

Amendment C127macr implements the adopted study by placing the Heritage Overlay on 32 places. The Heritage Overlay protects the significance of these places and their importance to the history of Macedon Ranges for our community now, and in to the future.

Community feedback on the amendment was invited from 3 June to 16 July 2021.

Thirteen submissions and three queries have been received to date.

Submissions to an amendment become public documents and are to be made available for viewing during the amendment process. Submissions received have been redacted with all personal/identifiable details removed.

All submissions will be put before Council and be considered at a Scheduled Council Meeting. Each submitter will be informed of the:

  • date and time of the Scheduled Council Meeting when Council will consider the submissions
  • online location where you will be able to view the report
  • outcome of the Scheduled Council Meeting; and
  • next steps in the amendment process. 

If there are issues raised in submissions that cannot be resolved, Council may decide to refer them to an independent Planning Panel for consideration. The Panel will then provide expert advice to Council on whether or not the amendment should proceed.
