Applications for the next round of Council's Community Funding Scheme and Events & Festivals grants program will open in 2022.

In the meantime, local community groups and events organisers are encouraged to start developing their project ideas well in advance of our grants deadlines.

Check out our online resources including project plan and budget templates to guide your grant application efforts.

A series of training videos developed with Woodend-based group Non Profit Training are also a handy tool if you are considering applying for future funding.

Further advice is also available from the Community Development Team on (03) 5422 0333 or email grants@mrsc.vic.gov.au.

Grant writing workshops

Council usually hosts grant writing workshops each March in the lead-up to its annual grants program. In 2021, one face-to-face workshop was hosted at Woodend Community Centre and the other held via webinar.

Led by an expert facilitator, these sessionsto support local organisations and groups. Participants learn how to navigate project planning and make applications for various funding opportunities, not just Council grants.

All workshops are designed for volunteers with limited or no experience in writing grants. Council officers are on hand to answer any questions to explain the annual grants guidelines, criteria and online grants application forms.
