Joining our Casual Educator Pool

If you hold an approved Early Childhood qualification and are looking for work where you can choose how many days a week you work, you might be interested in joining our casual pool.

Council is taking applications for people who are interested in joining our casual pool and working at one selected kindergarten or across all of our kindergartens.

Positions Available

Our kindergartens provide 7.5 and 5 hour programs for four year olds and 2.5 hour programs for three year olds. In 2022 3 year old programs increase to 5 hours.

To apply for the position, you will need:

  • An Australian Children's Education and Care Quality approved qualification for working in children’s education and care services or be assessed as working towards an approved qualification.
  • Current working with children card or Victorian institute of Teaching registration.
  • Current First Aid qualifications - specific to Early Childhood – HLTAID004 - Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting and current CPR certificate. 

Workplace Locations

Council manages eight kindergartens across the shire that provide kindergarten programs for three and four year old children during school terms.

These are located in Kyneton, Woodend, Lancefield, Romsey, Riddells Creek, Macedon and Gisborne.

Hours of Work

Our programs start at 8.30am; staff are expected to start at 8.15am. The 7.5 hour programs finish at 4pm, staff finish at 4.30pm, the 5 hour programs finish at 1.30pm and staff finish at 2pm.
