Woodend Racecourse Reserve

Woodend Racecourse Reserve plays an important role in the provision of sport and recreation opportunities for the community.

This reserve incorporates a fully fenced sports oval, athletics track, Buffalo Sports Stadium, two flexi-pave courts for netball and basketball, a scout hall and equestrian arenas.

The reserve is currently the home to the Woodend Pony Club, Riddells Creek Adult Riders Club, Hanging Rock and Woodend Pentanque Club, and is also accessed by the Woodend Junior Football Club and Woodend Hesket Football Netball Club.

Reserve master plan

We are preparing a master plan to provide Council, the community and the user groups/stakeholders with a future direction for the reserve to ensure that appropriate facilities and spaces are provided to meet the future sporting and recreational needs within the reserve.

In 2023 we invited your feedback via short survey to help inform the development of this important plan.

Council has appointed experienced recreation consultants @Leisure to undertake the development of this plan.

There will be further opportunities to have your say on the draft master plan once it has been developed.
