Council is working in partnership with the Victorian Government and Traditional Owners to implement the recommendations of the Macedon Ranges Protection Advisory Committee report, which seeks to introduce a range of reforms that will protect our shire’s unique values for current and future generations.
Localised Planning Statement
Macedon Ranges Localised Planning Statement as adopted 2014 has been set aside and a new Macedon Ranges Localised Planning Statement is to be prepared based on the recommendations of the Committee.
Macedon Ranges Protection legislation
New legislation that recognises the Macedon Ranges as an area of special state-level significance is planned to be introduced into Parliament in the next 12 months.
Local planning controls
Local planning controls, including Vegetation Protection and Significant Landscape overlays will be reviewed and aligned with the Localised Planning Statement.
