Locality MapLocated within an hour drive of Melbourne’s Central Business District to the south and Bendigo to the north, the Macedon Ranges Shire is renowned for its semi-rural lifestyle, its pristine landscapes and forests, unique natural features such as Hanging Rock, and the character and heritage of local townships.

These features have attracted residents and visitors since the early 1900s and continue to do so today.

Greatest recent growth has occurred in the south and south-east of the Shire in the towns of Gisborne, Riddells Creek and Romsey. These towns are closest to Melbourne and have a high proportion of workers who commute to Melbourne.

Further information is available via the above links or contact the Council's Social Planner on (03) 5422 0237.
