The Exotic Lives of Lola Montez

Sat 23 September to Sat 23 September | 8:00PM to 9:00PM

Venue: Kyneton Town Hall

In 1855, the wildest showgirl of the nineteenth century toured Australia and its goldfields - the scandal is legend.

From Patrick White Playwright Award Winner Jackie Smith and world famous cabaret stars Finucane & Smith [Cabaret Burlesque] comes the story of the wildest showgirl of the nineteenth century, Lola Montez.

She horsewhipped the editor of the Ballarat times (for a bad review), swung down mineshafts on a single rope with champagne in hand, and escaped arrest dressed only in her jewels. She was showered with gold nuggets and insults, and swathed in scandal.
