Heritage

Council has presented a submission to the Victorian Heritage Council’s consideration to list Hanging Rock on the Victorian Heritage Register.

Things to do and see

There's lots to see and do at the Rock, such as walks and tours, a cafe/gift shop and picnic areas, a playground, ovals, tennis courts and a racecourse.

Improvements for visitors and events

Council has been working with both the Victorian and Australian governments to secure much-needed funding to enhance the overall visitor experience at Hanging Rock.

Opening hours and fees

Hanging Rock is open all year round, except Christmas Day. Entry fees apply.

Environmental initiatives

Work is underway on several environmental initiatives that focus on conserving and enhancing Hanging Rock Reserve and the East Paddock.

Hanging Rock is located 1 hour north of Melbourne, right off the Calder Freeway at Woodend.
