Residents invited to vote thumbs up or down on proposed actions

Released: 7 March 2017

Council is inviting residents to have their say on the next stage of the development of the Council Plan 2017–2021 by voting on a range of themes via a new online forum.

The Council Plan, incorporating a Health and Wellbeing Plan, will guide Council direction and priorities for the next four years.

Council’s Mayor, Cr Jennifer Anderson said the online forum is made up of nine key areas that are based on feedback and ideas from residents.

“Over the past eight weeks we’ve been working with the community to find out what they see as important priorities that we should focus on over the next four years.

“We received more than 1,000 responses to our initial online survey and explored a number of emerging themes at a recent community workshop—all of which has been used to identify the key areas that we are now asking the community vote on,” she said.

Each key area is associated with a series of proposed actions that the community can give a ‘thumbs up or ‘thumbs down’, and comment on.

“It’s crucial that we develop a plan that reflects our community’s aspirations so I would encourage everyone to vote, add comments and share their ideas about what would make a difference for all communities in the Macedon Ranges,” Cr Anderson said.

The forum will be open until 5pm on Friday 31 March.

Residents can also have their say by submitting a written submission to mrsc@mrsc.vic.gov.au or PO Box 151, Kyneton VIC 3444.

Councillors have also held several listening posts at various locations across the shire, with the following to be held in the coming weeks:
